Students in Dialogue with UDMR Leader Kelemen Hunor
The Security Studies and World Politics Association organized a new edition of its “Voices & Communities: Romania’s Ethnic Mosaic” program, a series of events dedicated to exploring Romania’s ethnic and identity diversity through direct dialogue with relevant political and institutional actors.
This edition brought together students and Kelemen Hunor, leader of the UDMR political party, for a discussion held at the Palace of Parliament, focused on the political and identity-based representation of Romania’s largest ethnic minority, as well as its historical, institutional, and political evolution after 1989.
Among the topics discussed were:
- the relationship between minorities and the state
- the political participation of ethnic communities
- interethnic dynamics in Romania
- current challenges in the representation of ethnic communities
The event is part of the association’s broader series of initiatives dedicated to direct dialogue between students and political decision-makers, contributing to a better understanding of democratic representation mechanisms and the identity-based complexity of Romanian society.
