Conference: “Transnistria – From Frozen Conflict to Hybrid War”

Against the backdrop of the resolution adopted at the end of February by the separatist authorities in Tiraspol, requesting protection from Russia and denouncing an alleged “economic war” conducted by the authorities in Chișinău, as well as in the context of Kremlin officials’ plans to extend military control toward southern Ukraine and establish a link with the Transnistrian region, participants will discuss the security risks generated by these developments.
The speakers will analyse the role played by the presence of Russian troops in Transnistria and by Moscow’s hybrid warfare in the Republic of Moldova.
Speakers:
- Anatol Șalaru, former Minister of Defence of the Republic of Moldova
- Mihai Gribincea, adviser to the Governor of the National Bank of Romania and former Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Romania
- Dr. Radu Carp, Professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Bucharest
- Dr. Cristian Barna, Associate Professor at the Faculty of History, Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, and at the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, University of Bucharest; former Vice-Rector of the National Intelligence Academy
